Electric switch machine is an important railway electrical equipment that whether it woks reliably or not is related to the safety of rail transportation, and the motor is the core of electric switch machine, so it is necessary to monitor the motor of electric switch machine online. In railway station, as the distance from the switch machine needed monitoring to monitoring center is different, the number of the switch machine is large and irregular distribution, so, the reliability of data transmission is difficult, it is necessary to design a stable and reliable communication solution.On the basis of analyzing the system architecture of electric switch machine monitoring online system, thesis chose a communication solution fitted for this system according to the actual situation and considering both technology and economics by analyzing and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of electric switch machine monitoring online system'several normal communications. Namely it achieved the result that the inspection data and the switch machine's power share the same transmission line, which saved the cable, improved the system usability, reduced the cost of system communication and the difficulty in construction. And in order to ensure the reliability of detection data transmission, thesis designed the system communication protocol. Aiming at the demand of multi-serial ports data communication, paper devised a multi-serial ports dater transfer processor by adopting the SOPC technology and using the FPGA programmability based on Nios II and implemented the communication from twenty lower position machines to PC.System operation results show that the communication solution has high reliability and stability and can achieve the monitoring system technology requirements. The designed processor in this communication solution can change the number of serial port flexibility according to actual needs and has good portability, realization easily, flexibility. And thus expands the scope of application of communication solution and provide some reference to the design of monitoring system's communication in different scale's station.
