With the development of economy, daily household appliances are becoming morepopular in normal families, such as air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines, etc,especially large power electriccal equipments become wide range. We start into the times ofthousand KWH for household electricity consumption, and the public is paying moreattention to energy saving since the power consumption is increasing significantly togetherwith random and frequent accidents caused by electrical equipments, besides electricity gridsystem becomes more complicated due to the type and number of equipments loaded on thegrid becomes random, thus it somehow affects the electricity quality and finally would causeaccidents during daily operation, as a result, it’s more necessary and urgent to monitorhousehold eletricity consumption.This topic focuses on power consumption of household appliances and the impact onelectrical wiring, then introduce a design for electricity power monitoring terminal for largepower household eletrical equipments, as well as a power monitoring communication systemon the basis of wireless public network and low electric line force carried communication.The topic centers around power saving, environment protection and usage safty, with simpledesign as research principle and directs on daily applications. The paper would maily forcuson the design and application for the power monitoring terminal based on low electric lineforce carried communication, also would introduce the data collection, harmonic analysis andcommunication function, then summarize the advantage and disadvantage for the wholemonitoring terminal.This paper is a reaction towards the needs to develop the national intelligent electricitygrid and popular the concept for the intelligent household. A set of monitoring teminal forlarge power electrical application can ensure household eletricity safty, meanwhile canpopular the concept for electricity saving and environment protection, and also helpful forcontrolling the electricity quality and maintaining a stable condition for electrical grid. Thedesign for monitor teminal and communication system is based on the most updated reversionof《Technical Specifications of Electricity Consumption Data Collection System》 and《Multifunction Energy Meter Communication Protocol-DL/T645-2007’》issued by NationalIntelligent Electricity Grid.
