Visual Simulation System of Train Driving Simulator (in the case of non-ambiguous visual simulation system for short) is an important part of train driving simulator, is the. most intuitive form of the simulation's realistic and immersion feel. With the great development of high-speed railway, the line length of the train driving simulator needs is getting longer, the size of the scene model is beyond the current mainstream graphics workstation's memory size. The train driving simulator visual simulation system based on OpenGL Performer can not be achieved real-time rendering of large-scale scenes beyond the memory size, can not meet the current visual simulation system needs, because OpenGL Performer's scene graph and the scene is closely related.In contrast to the OSG (OpenSceneGraph) graphics engine and the OGRE (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine) graphics engine, based on their respective advantages and disadvantages, choose OGRE as the graphics engine. This paper deply studied the principles of out-of-core algorithm and the application to graphics rendering, and then present a out of core rendering method of large scale scene models base on OGRE. Baseed on this method, we redesigned the visual simulation software, and conducted the module division, and completed the key modules.Experimental results show that the visual simulation system based on OGRE can achieve real-time rendering of the large scale models which is exceed the memeory size. It is completed of the main objectives of this paper. In addition, the rendering efficiency, the new system is more efficiency the old system; memory footprint, the new system has lower memory occupancy rate than the previous system; visual effect, the OGRE system has the better view than the previous system; but in the headlights, window effects, support for other aspects of animation sequences,the visual simulation system based on OGRE has to be improved.
