The Hot-Mix-Asphalt Pavement Overlay Uniformity Evaluation

Since the beginning of reform and opening, with the rapid development of our country's freeway, the Hot-Mix-Asphalt(HMA) pavement has been widely used in our country. The serious early destructions of HMA pavement has brought a great loss to our Country. In these factors, the cause for the early destruction is that the HMA is not homogeneous, and the primary reason is the segregation of HMA.Based on analyzing the reason for segregation of the mixture produced in the transportation and resolving measures under the actual construction technics, this paper points out under the actual construction technics and equipment conditions, the HMA must appear gradation segregation and temperature segregation, and provide the new resolutions: transport-paving. The new construction techniques add HMA Material-Transfer-Vehicle (MTV) to actual HMA pavement construction.Through comparing the old construction techniques with the new construction techniques, The paper indicate that transport-paving construction techniques can reduce the gradation segregation and temperature segregation of HMA effectively , Through comparing the old construction techniques with the construction techniques on the structure depth, permeability coefficient, compactness, smoothness of HMA pavement ,we can get, the four guidelines fluctuatation get from the construction techniques made is more low than get from the old construction techniques made,this show HMA pavement is more homogeneous when using the construction techniques. As a result , we conclude that: as a new craft, transport-paving is the best way to solve the segregation of the HMA.
