"Low-carbon" tide has sweep over the world rapidly since the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen last year. First appeared in the paper of the UK Government in 2003 the "LOW-CARBON" became official word in 2007 finally to face increasing of global warming by international community institutions. Although "Low Carbon" is totally a new concept it is an old topic of sustainable development. "Low Carbon" is the term to promote the development of the times, It rapidly create many concepts such as "low-carbon economy", "low-carbon life", "low-carbon buildings" etc. As a big country of resource consumption, China has solemnly promised the congress that the carbon emission of unit GDP by 2020 will reduce 45%, compared with 2005 .This indicates that the Chinese economy will shortly be a low carbon economy in transition.To achieve this goal of sustainable development, to enhance the "energy saving" awareness, It is the bounden duty of every citizen to choose "low-carbon life" to address climate change. China's low-carbon era, also led to the concept of interior design upgrades and the responsibilities of thinking. Reviewing the status of design, this paper shows the impact of green design concepts under low-carbon economy. It discusses the principles of low-carbon design and selection materials, and explores the future of intelligent home method.
