Earthquake is the result of internal earth structure movement and one of the frequently occurred natural disasters. Greater level of earthquake will cause serious building damage and casualties. Due to the use of dense crowds and poor oself-protection ability of the users, making Primary and secondary school is a special one of the affected buildings. Therefore, raising on the importance of primary and secondary teaching building, strengthening primary and secondary school teaching building seismic safety measures are most important in today's society。In varying degrees in the earthquake damage, after strengthening, but can continue to use part of the school building, and we need to take effective measures to strengthen their capacities for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, which is something we should continue to study the current and the future direction of development.Through the study on seismic technologies and earthquake strengthening technology of primary and secondary schools, teaching building of the school eventually becomes worthy of school teachers and students and nearby residents "first asylum".Based on the fundamental work of testing the safety performance of primary and middle school buildings at Hu County and its relevant standards, this article discusses the earthquake resistance appraisal method of single and multi-storey school building with brick masonry structure, thus provides the direct information for the earthquake resistance appraisal of primary and middle school building. According to the appraisal results of primary and middle school buildings'earthquake resistance ability at Hu County, the author summarizes the typical earthquake resistance problems existed in various weak links of primary and middle school buildings and carefully investigates its manifestations and analyzes the causes of earthquake damage. At last, the author tries to put forward several earthquake resistance and strengthening plans for each weak link existed in school buildings, make a comprehensive evaluation of them from the perspective of security reliability, the construction condition and the work cost, and choose a relatively economical and reasonable strengthening plan so that it can provide some beneficial information for the earthquake resistance strengthening work of school buildings in order to adapt to the current science and technology society.
