Protection relay system which is the key of the power system security is the most crucial link for the safety and stability of a power system. As long as they are executed by right and valid values, relay protection equipments produce a maximum effect. So the setting work which is done well is the key in electric safe operation.Along with the development of electric power system, the scale of power grid and structure is more and more complex, relay protection setting calculation and management workload increases greatly. So, study and improve the relay protection setting calculation and management system of electric network is important.First, this dissertation introduced the fault analysis and protection setting theoretical basis, main content includes grid method to solve common faults of different types of protection and setting calculation principle. Then summarized the status of Hebi regional Protection Relay, in-depth analysis of the Hebi region for Protective Relaying of the equipment configuration and shortcomings. In order to adapt to the local grid hebi of relay protection setting calculation work of the actual need, protection devices on the network setting calculation and management system is studied.Last, protection device integrative coordination system for distribution power grids are designed, who elaborate design goal, general structure and function division, system parameter management, fault calculation and analysis, setting cooperation, the protection configuration management, conservation value function such as the management of relay protection setting calculation and management of the whole process of the automation. What's more, the system provides a user-friendly interface, easy operation and various methods of manual interposal to enhance its adaptability and flexibility.
