Electric network fault calculation is an important reference of electric equipment choice, electric network design choice and relaying protection setting calculation. Relay protection setting calculation is essential in electrical power system. Now electric network is very complicated ,and its mode of operation is multivariant. These works are difficult to deal with handwork. New computer technology can overcome these difficults. Using node admittance matrix as maths model of network,All kinds of faults including short circuit,break of conductor and double combined failure are analysed; A reasonable project about branch coefficient of zero current protection and distance protection is brought forward; Some problems are discussed, such as the line adaptive relay protection setting math model and its realization, the calculation of break points set and the coordination of main protection with backup in multiloop networks; An OO(Object-Oriented) model of power system is formed, in which later jobs can be done so as to add more analysis functions. Based on the OO model founded, a power system diagram editor is developed which is convenient to integrate all kinds of analysis programmes with. An object-oriented power system fault analysis and relay protection setting calculation package is developed using VC++. The load flow analysis function is also implemented in the package.
