The transition of maintenance mode from planned maintenance to state maintenance, need the support of equipment condition assessment techniques. Using fewer evaluation index parameters, the traditional condition evaluation techniques can not fully utilize information of equipment condition and therefore can not accurately evaluate the equipment condition. Based on this reason, this article uses the intensity of frequency bands as the condition evaluation index and constructs a indicator mode based on multiple index. A composite indicator is brought our after adopting ideas of principal component analysis method to convert various index parameters information and then be used to grade equipment condition. The main works of this article are as follows:1,The basic theory of equipment condition evaluation technology is described. It introduces how the index system of equipment condition evaluation is constructed, including the selection of indexes, the determination of the threshold of status index, etc. The determination method of index weight is described. It also compares and analysis the features and practical applications of several frequently used mathematical model. The equipment condition is graded to several levels. The definition of health degree is made and the calculation method of health degree is given. Then the mapping of health degree to the condition level of equipment is established.2,The selection and calculation methods of condition evaluation index are researched. To improve the utilization of the frequency domain information and make full use of the device status information, multiple bands of frequency intensity are selected as evaluation index and the calculation method of frequency vibration severity is researched. The method for setting frequency bands is discussed.Applied to engineering practice, results show that the multiply evaluation index modes can more comprehensive reflect the device status information.3,The method of equipment condition evaluation based on principal component analysis is proposed. The basic principle and implementation steps of principal component analysis method are discussed. And then the principal component analysis method is applied to the equipment condition assessment. The method is used to evaluate the operating status of gear box. The results show that the evaluation results are consistent with the actual situation and show that the method is reasonable and effective.4,The system of equipment condition assessment is constructed on the base of multiply index. The corresponding evaluation method is constructed according to different types of equipment.The method of index selection and the division of frequency bands for different types of equipments is researched. Then the condition evaluation model based on principal component analysis is used to grade the equipment operating status. The method is used to evaluate the operating status of fan equipment. The results show that the evaluation results are consistent with the actual situation and the method is feasible in the engineering application field.
