Maintenance and periodic maintenance operation is to ensure grid stability transmitted energy, reduce equipment failure rates, effective way to improve their economic efficiency. Especially the high-frequency equipment maintenance or periodic servicing equipment can prevent failures of small to large devices to the system, to avoid economic losses due to failures. Failure means of prevention apparatus in our country in a systematic preventive maintenance based. Recommendations to overhaul the way multi-specific maintenance and equipment manufacturers to provide historical data combined approach, the equipment for regular maintenance.This paper first introduces the development course of electric power equipment insulation repair technology, explains the basic concepts and adapt to the stage of the accident maintenance, preventive maintenance and condition based maintenance. Through comparative and analysis of the accident maintenance and preventive maintenance, we conclude the deficiency of these methods and the significance of the condition based maintenance technology.Then, the paper introduces the condition maintenance strategy and online monitoring technology of the transformer, and introduces the method of the fusion, laid the foundation for subsequent work.The main innovation of this paper is to apply the principal component analysis method to the condition maintenance of the transformer. Utilize SAS software to fit the function relation between the principal component and the degree of degradation. Thus the software can calculate any of the orderly degradation degree of the principal component value. Find the nearest spot, then introduce the degradation trend to describe varying conditions along with the equipment degradation degree.The advantage of the method is that: the firstly, compared the degradation degree obtained by the method of expert evaluation and the method mentioned in this paper, the degradation degree can be obtained by simple calculation from a fitting formula in a real time, this solved the problem of information loss in the static evaluation. Secondly, at any time the different equipments with the same or similar degradation degrees, dynamic assessment method can conclude the difference by comparing degradation trend. Then software provides the basis for maintenance decision-making from the perspective of dynamic.Ultimately the dynamic model of equipment has been validated on the #1 oil-immersed transformer of Shang'an power plant. The result shows that the condition based maintenance proposed in this paper can calculate the degree of degradation value and the degradation trend conveniently. Using this method with the current regulation as state judgment of the equipment, provide the basis for maintenance interval, can determine the running status of the equipment more accurately.
