| With the improvements of living standards and the developments of urbanization, the contradiction between water supply and demand is more and more serious. In order to alleviate water resources shortage and to avoid the increase of urban flood flow design, it is necessary to focus on the rainwater utilization.By means of investigation and analysis of the rainwater quality in Suzhou, the features of rainwater quality were known well, which is helpful to design and operate rainwater utilization system safely and effectively, and provides references for effective pollutant control measures. Three typical gathering grounds of the urban rainwater runoff, the asphalt roof, tile roof and elevated road in Suzhou were investigated, as in the following work:(1) The major pollutants in rainwater runoff which were COD, SS, TP, NH3-N were measured to assess water quality by comparison the concentration of major pollutants and surface water environmental standards.(2) The duration curves were made according to determination results, and analysis were given to the factors of different catchments, as well as the variation with duration of rainfall, water quality analysis showed that the main factor for rainfall water quality was the rainfall intensity.(3) The correlation between rainwater runoff pollutants was studied and determined, and detection and quantitative analysis of water quality were simplified, which provided a theoretical basis and reference for post-development of rainwater treatment methods and technology.(4) For the effective use of urban rainwater and runoff pollution control system, the flush rules of pollutants was studied, which provided the preliminary research to the runoff pollution control system.(5) Several measures were suggested for different runoff pollutions from different urban rainwater runoff, such as greening the roof, using the penetrable road face, infiltrating the runoff of the gully, etc. Rain water treatment processes were also briefly described. |
