Driving gear system as a main locomotive part is used to transmit the output torque of traction motor and drive the wheelsets, it has high transmission efficiency, compact structure, stable transmission and so on. However, driving gear system as a complex flexible transmission system will bring about vibration under excitation, which affects the safe driving of locomotive. To ensure high reliability and high security of the train, comprehensive and in-depth research on driving gear system is needed.In this paper, influencing factors and numerical simulation methods of the internal dynamics excitation of driving gear system were analyzed. Meanwhile, nonlinear dynamic model of driving gear system was established. System response caused by changes of driving gear system parameters was calculated. The results show that gear error amplitude has notable impacts on system response, and system vibration was intensified with error magnitude increasing, besides with decrease of gear meshing damping ratio, gear system changed form a single-frequency cycles response into chaotic response instantly, and meshing vibration became more severe; with gear external load increasing, system vibration increased, but the system displacement and speed responses were still periodic.In this paper, based on the analysis of internal dynamics excitation of locomotive driving gear, a locomotive dynamic model was established with tools of gear dynamic meshing force formulas and multi-body dynamics software SIMPACK, and dynamic parameters of locomotive was calculated in the curved and straight track conditions. Simulation results showed that in the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear conditions vibration of motor was obvious, but the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear had no effect on body and frame dynamic performance. In the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear and track irregularity conditions the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear had no effect on body and frame dynamic performance, however, vibration of motor was significant; the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear had no effect on locomotive curving performance.
