Research On The Plant Landscaping Of Roof Garden

Along with the developing of urbanization process in China, urban green area is becoming increasingly tense. It has been a new channel to improve the living environment and develop additional urban green space, that human have to explore the upper space of modern cities and create roof garden on the top of constructions. Roof garden can improve the ecological environment of urban living space by planting, and provide additional recreation areas for residents, with the an integrated landscape by combining plant and other elments such as road, construction, water features, service facilities, and so on. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the plant lanscaping of roof garden for the sustainable urban development. Although the large number of research on the plantscape of roof garden, the study focuses are variedly different. The author tried to provide some constructive optimization suggestions on the plant landscaping of roof garden, by further innovating and exploring based on thinking about the relationship among the three of plants, construction and human beings in roof top environment.Roof garden landscaping is the process of improving the artificial built environment by planting, there is an interaction and interdependent relationship among the three of plants, human and the building. The author systematically analyzed the site and its influnence on the plant landscaping on the roof top, from the three perspectives of built environment, ecological environment and human activities. Then, based on the result of site analysis, some plant landscaping strategies were proposed from three aspects of adapting to the built and ecological environment and encouraging people's activities. Finally, argumentation analysis of examples, three representative cases were chose for in-depth analysis, summarized both features and some problems of roof garden plant landscaping, and proposed some optimization suggestions.The author considered the roof garden plant landscaping from the view point of site environment and human, and strived to handle the relationship of plants, building and human, improve the landscape effects and space utilization of roof garden, and promote the sustainable development of urban roof garden plant landscaping practices.
