China is a malloseismic country, long-term earthquake disaster brings massive loss for the country and people. In the past, structural meansare used to resist the earthquake disaster. As a kind of isolation technology, the laminated rubber bearing base isolation develops relative rapidly. Base-isolated structures have been paid great attention in both academic field and engineering field due to its favorable performance. The base isolated structures are widely used in some developed countries, and it is also developed rapidly in China. Many scholars have accomplished a lot of theoretical and computational study on the seismic response analysis of base-isolated structure.The seismic isolated structure system is a passive control system, which is different from traditional anti-seismic structure system. The lateral flexibility of the base-isolation system increases the fundamental period of the structure and thus obstruct the transmission of the earthquake energy and reduce the seismic response.In this thesis, a six-storey frame structure is used as an example.The finite element analysis softwave SAP2000 is used to analyzes the seismic response of the isolated structure and non-isolation structure. The EL-Centro wave and tangshan wave are chosen as the input seimic wave. By comparison, the author verify the effectiveness of the isolation and the feasibility of the isolated structure. The results illustrate that frame structure with basement isolation can effectively reduce the horizontal earthquake response of structure compared with the traditional technique. The isolation layer of base-isolated structure gives full play to its large deformation and dissipate the earthquake energy under horizontal earthquake action. it makes the deformation concentrated on isolation layer and inhibits horizontal earthquake action transfer to the superstructure, and greatly decreases story drift, the storey shear force, acceleration of the superstructure. The superstructure with the isolation layer moves horizontally The seismic damage of horizontal earthquake action to the superstructure is greatly reduced.Meanwhile, as the seismic damage of the superstructure was greatly reduced, the usability of structure can be significantly improved and its construction cost obviously reduced.
