The Study On The Relevant Problems Of Chinese Railway Express Freight Trasportation Organization

With the unceasing development of the market economy with Chinese characteristics, and the constant adjustment of economic and industrial structures, the demands of freight transport are changing rapidly which now require higher standards such as high speed, convenience and timely freight. Considering these changes, the railway should develop the express freight transport and find a way to compete against the road transportation and the air transportation.This article, under this backdrop, based on the experience of railway express freight transport both at home and abroad, analyses the current challenges and opportunities of the railway and, at the same time, studies systematically on some relevant problems of express freight transport. The main contents are the following:Ⅰ. The brief analyses of the development of the railway express freight transport both at home and abroad.This article defines the ranges and the customers of express freight transport. With the introduction of the development of the railway express freight transport at home and abroad and the current situations of China, it summarizes foreign countries'mature experience and analyzes China's existing problems. Then, it has discussed the potential influences led by the particular characteristics of Chinese railway freight transport.Ⅱ. The organization of the sources and the flows of freightAccording to the problems of forming the railway express freight transport, raised by the organization of the sources and the flows of freight, this article proposes a series of measures including developing the integration of consolidation system, feeder system and transport system, developing the freight centralization and enlargement, establishing central freight stations, and optimizing the procedure of railway freight transport.Ⅲ. The design methods of corridorsthis text analyses the connotation and the characteristics of the express freight transportation corridor, and clarify its relation with existed network. And we illustrate the content and the procedure of the express freight transportation corridor programming. Then, using the method of cluster analysis, and with the use of SPSS, we discuss how to carry through the programming, testified by a simple example.Fourthly, this article proposes the idea of mainly developing the mode of full-train through transportation, properly developing the mode of integrated-distribution transportation and intensively developing the mode of multimodal transportation. Using LINGO11 to building up a model, we do some research on the service network problem of Chinese railway express freight transportation.Finally, we also indicates the shortages of this article and look forward the future work.
