As the stadium of of helding sport competitions and big events, weather conditions often affected the activities and events, Retractable Roof Structures could avoid bad weather, so more and more buildings use the retractable roof. This will not only bring economic benefits to the local social, but also provides a good engineering practice to the research and development of retractable roof structures. Retractable roof structures of collecting architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and other specialized application disciplines, is the embodiment of comprehensive science and technology.The research on retractable roof structures start late in China, the application just started. Most retractable roof structures at this stage in China are the tennis stadium, representative are:Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Center, Hangzhou Huanglong tennis court and the National Tennis Centre. China havn't a truly original retractable roof structure of a large span stadium,the research of retractable roof structures is still in its infancy, research papers and patents about retractable roof structures have seldom, so it needs to be strengthened to promote the development of China's retractable roof structures.This paper has three main parts:Part I:Introduced the application of retractable roof structures its ansysis methods and the characteristics of the retractable system.Part II:On the basis of referencing large amounts of literature data, combined with previous failures, the safety case was evaluated, given the structural stability of retractable roof structure a number of factors, summed up the evaluation principles to retractable roof structures.Part III:Taking Jiaxing Tennis Center Stadium as an example, the author introduce the design information and construction process, focusing on analysis results following with the change of the fixed truss modal static analysis, and did stability analysis to the fixed truss.Part IV:The author did modal analysis, time history analysis to retractable roof structures under three state of closed, half open, wide open. And compared the results of time history and response spectrum analysis in the condition of retractable roof closed.
