Bluetooth shell is a new kind of shells. It transmit signals from the Bluetooth signal transmission devices locating in the head of the shell, then the Bluetooth signal receivers which are laid in the target area in advance will receive the signals. In the last phase, the value of received signals'power is transported to the observation institutes in front of artillery and displayed on the screen. At first, the ground point where the shells fall is commutated and the material of enemy bunker is estimate by dealing with the captured data. Then a lot of useful information can be achieved including the firing data of shooting target, the needed ammunition base, the applied fuse, the number of power charge, the way to shoot and so on. At the same time, the ultimate judgments for the extent of the damage and suppression caused by target shooting that the objects suffer will be given. All of those bring much benefit on shooting effect assessment of artillery.The subject on Bluetooth shell is a brand new direction, so there are little useful data and models we can consult. In this paper, we will further study the physical structureg of the Bluetooth shell, the wireless structures, operations and principles about how to use it. On other hand, the knowledge about artillery will be integrated into our method, because cannons and bombs are a great combination. There is no certain type of bomb that can be fired from all kinds of cannons, contrariwise there is no certain type of cannon that can fire all kinds of bombs, the excellent performance and power of artillery only can be obtained under the condition that the artillery and shells are fully compatible with each other. In this paper, we also will study the application of the Bluetooth shells on self-propelled gun howitzer, and make necessary discusses on the training and fighting model changes of the self-propelled gun howitzer units with or without Bluetooth devices.The main work in this paper is described as follows:Firstly, this paper gives a brief introduction to describe the features of Bluetooth technology, the Bluetooth system structures. Then the Bluetooth protocol stack is analyzed including the service discovering protocol that the Bluetooth shells apply, wireless application protocol in the Bluetooth technology applications of the military.Secondly, much emphasis has been put on introduction of the Bluetooth shells. This study is based on the researches of the physical structures and wireless structures of the Bluetooth. Compared with ordinary bombs, the unique features of the Bluetooth shells will be given. In this part, the study also covers the principles about how to use the Bluetooth shells, including the judgment principle about the ground point where the bomb falls and assessment principle about active ammunition shooting effect that the Bluetooth shells bring. Then some recommendations and solutions are approved to solve the possible difficulties which may emerge during the development of the Bluetooth shells. At last we make a further discussion about the Bluetooth shells'storage, maintenance and precautions during the transports.Finally, the compatibility between the Bluetooth shells and the self-propelled gun howitzer are studied. Taking the advanced the whole process of training on self-propelled bombs for example, this section discuss the differences of the training models between artillery of self-propelled bombs without the equipment of Bluetooth shells and the one with the equipment of Bluetooth shells. All of those attempts make a great preparation for the application of the Bluetooth shells on self-propelled gun howitzer, at the same they also lay the solid foundation for constructing the troops equipped with the Bluetooth shells.
