The compound utilization of renewable energy resources is an effective way both to the sustainable development strategy practice and environmental protection in our country.Solar and wind energy are two kinds of widely used renewable resources which are of complementary characteristics both in resource condition and technical application.In the society taking power energy as main consumption,to establish a generating system by wind and solar hybrid is an economic and reasonable way.In regions far away from power transmission network, wind/solar hybrid generation plays an active role.Generally it is necessary to add some energy-saving steps in the system such as battery or super capacitor for the random and intermittence feature of the wind and solar energy to meet the requirement of stable and continuous power consumption in daily life and production.There are many things to be studied in the system,such as optimal unit sizing and operational control of the wind/solar hybrid system, MPPT control,the automatic following control to the sun in PV generation,direct current supply by battery and inverse alternating current supply of battery.This paper introduces the off-grid wind/PV hybrid power supply system for telecommunications in theory, mainly for the wind turbine and the part of battery, designing the circuits of hardware and ways of software control based on PIC, analyzing and comparing a variety of methods of maximum power tracking control,finally,making a brief introduction of the controller in the actual operational environment.
