Wood is the use of the oldest, one of the most readily available building materials. Wooden structure refers to the wood as the main structure of the force system works,In housing construction, bridges, roads and other aspects of a wide range of applications. Wood exposed to the air and easy to aging, vulnerable to a variety of biological contaminants and suffer typhoon, earthquake, rain, uv etc damage. Therefore necessary to strengthen the maintenance of wooden structure. Currently used in structural reinforcement of the relatively large number of fiber reinforced composites (FRP) is the carbon fiber,glass fiber and aramid fibers. Combination of wood and glass fiber materials, features and price and other factors considered, For strengthening timberwork GFRP is more valuable.The basis of existing research from home and abroad ,through Fujian fir performance tests,determination and analyzes the performance indexes of fir. Through the bandage specimens of twenty-one timber columns axial compression test,study of the various factors on strengthening effect, such as strengthening modes, reinforcing quantity, slenderness ratio and different sectional form. Destruction of timber columns morphological characteristics of specimens. Analysis of calculated bearing capacity of the GFRP formula reinforced timber column.,and the reinforcement of the construction process is discussed.
