With the accelerated pace of modern life, people have access to clothing information means more simple and clarified. People pay more attention on clothing exhibition-related store design, and lighting design for the impact of promotional clothing stores is almost more important than our imagination. How can we make the lighting design more effective is the primary problem the clothing vendors and lighting designer have to solve.The thesis focuses on the factors of contemporary lighting design.The study was based on previous researches,and literature materials and spot survey were adopted as well. The development process of electric lighting was discussed, and the features of lighting design in different periods were also analyzed, The study may contribute to further understanding of contemporary lighting design. In this way, a rational design method can be further explored for lighting in the future.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part investigated features of different periods, the analysis of the problems in modern lighting design. The second part is about the illumination methods of contemporary lighting design, it was divided into three styles. The third part summarizes all kinds of factors that affected contemporary lighting design, such as space, color and material. In the last part was the analy of brand culture and the consumer psychology.The main innovation of the paper is the regional festures, and the performance of methods of the brand culture in lighting design.
