| Suzhou private gardens in mid & late period of Ming Dynasty were developed fast and had profound influence, specifically owning era disposition and regional features. This study tries to explore the spiritual connotation and space configuration of Suzhou private gardens in mid & late period of Ming Dynasty. Generally, this can be regarded as 'situation','composition'and'relationship', being analyzed and discussed by concept, layout and landscaping. Based on the complicated politic background, exquisite aesthetical standard, profound culture and unique territorial environment of mid & late period of Ming Dynasty, the research framework of landscape architectures'distribution is set up initially. Then the influencing factors, ideological system and space configuration are analyzed and summarized systematically.In mid & late period of Ming Dynasty, landscape architectures of Suzhou grew fast whether in individual structures or configuration methods. In terms of function, they meet the requirements of people's related activities in daily life and aesthetical aspiration. In terms of visualization, depending on the convex & concave relationship of mountains and water bodies and flexible changes under integration, these architectures are integrated in the natural environment and collaborated with other landscape features, providing people a harmonious landscape and sense of place. The landscape architectures are the key point of composition and landscaping, having a great impact on the construction of landscape space and decision of landscape style.The influencing factors of landscape architectures'layout include social and cultural background, philosophic thinking, aesthetic taste, poem and picture theory, main ideas of architecture management, site selection, landscape scale and landscape themes based on owner's attitude and interests, and so force. Depending on these and being integrated with Chinese traditional garden making theories, the landscape layout concept is realized and summarized, including the attitudes toward'human-made'and'natural made'things, subject and object treatment, themes deduction and principles of site selection. Finally, landscape architectures'layout characteristics are analyzed by interior relationship, plane form, space character and artistic conception. Meanwhile, the architectures'landscape making methods are summarized from the aspects of forming scenery rely on mountain and water, introducing scenery and borrowing the scenery no matter when and where. |
