Research On Sealing Technology And Cracks Investigation For Transverse Crackes Of Asphalt Pavement In Large Temperature Difference Region

Transverse crack is one of the main types of the asphalt pavement damage in our country. Currently the research on transverse crack repair has made some progress, but the asphalt pavement still encountered greater damage again after repair in northeast and northwest of China, as temperature difference is larger, the repair failure is more prominent. In order to get reasonable selection standards of the sealing materials, and apply the material to the area where the temperature difference is larger, the investigation, routine indoor experiment, the development of the low temperature test instruments and further research of seam filling are employed for the issue.According to the different climatic distribution characteristics in Heilongjiang province, this paper investigated six sections of test road in different regions and analyzed the change rules in the different months and in the different temperature condition of cracks. And this provided the foundation of sealing technology for transverse cracks of the asphalt pavement.The author participated in the development of low temperature performance tester of sealant material for pavement, and improved the instrument independently. Some experiment had done with the instrument and some test parameters had be sure. So the system is accurate and reliable.This paper summarized the sealing failure under investigation in the sealant materials using condition. And we select three common sealant materials for the basic nature test, and do experiments of various kinds sealant materials by use of low temperature performance measuring equipment, and verify testing performance. And the reasonable sealing technology for transverse cracks in the asphalt pavement is put forward..
