Single-layer reticulated dome, a common form of spatial structure, has developed rapidly in sports and public buildings. The current reports from research and seismologic observation show that the large displacement and plastic response in the dome may occur during earthquake. Therefore, vibration control is very meaningful to this kind of structure and this is especially true when it comes to the severe earthquake. In order to control seismic response of the single-layer reticulated dome, the present paper introduces the buckling restrained braces (BRB) into the substructure and carries a series of parameter analysis on this kind of new dome. This thesis mainly studies the content including:1 Researches on the improvement of anti-seismic properties of the BRB introduced to the single-layer reticulated domeBy use of the full-range dynamic responses analysis method under dynamic response, this paper contrasts the seismic response of the dome without brace, the dome with common brace and the dome with BRB in the substructure. It elaborates the difference between the structure with BRB and other two structures in respects of maximum displacement, plastic development and critical loads. Also, the anti-seismic mechanism of BRB is included.2 Researches on dynamic failure of domes with BRB assigned in steel substructureTypical example analysis is performed and the whole course is described in terms of displacement, plastic development and critical load. Three different typical failure modes of the domes with BRB in steel substructure are illustrated. Besides, the influences of BRB core area, yielding stress, type of earthquake, size of column in the substructure, rise-span ratio of the dome, arrangement of BRB in the substructure on failure mechanism and anti-seismic properties are discussed. The results could be used as reference in the practical design. 3 Researches on dynamic failure of domes with BRB assigned in reinforced concrete substructureSimplified model is provided to simulate the reinforced concrete substructure. Based on the analysis from this model, the influences of size of without-BRB -substructure column are discussed. Then, the BRBs are introduced to the substructure in two ways---continually interposed and discontinuously interposed between the different size columns and their reducing effect is researched in detail.
