In the upsurge of nationwide construction of large stadiums and exhibition halls, Layer spherical reticulated shells has found more and more favor in structure designer’ s eyes for its rational form and graceful figure. Our country lies in a territory with several earthquake hazards, so it’s necessary to study its seismic performance. As a typical application of theory of structural vibration control, buckling restrained brace(BRB) could reduce the damage of structures during earthquake. In this paper, I’ll introduce the BRB into the Layer spherical reticulated shells, and the buckling restrained braced frame will be considered as the substructure of the single-layer reticulated dome. This thesis mainly studies the content including:First, for the single-layer reticulated dome supported by substructure composed by single frame-ring beam system braced by BRB, compare the dynamic responses of structures with these without BRB. Find that there’ll be four typical features occur gradually during the increase of the area of the BRB. Summary the variation of seismic response of main structure and the energy index of BRB system, and then, the antiseismic mechanism of BRB is include. Also, the reasonable area of BRB is proposed.Second, for the single-layer reticulated dome supported by substructure composed by single frame-ring beam system braced by BRB, the arrangement of BRB in the substructure,the rise-span ratio of the dome, the span of the dome, the size of column in the substructure, type of earthquake on failure mechanism and anti-seismic properties are discussed. The result could be used as reference in the practical design.Third, change the form of substructure, the substructure in this part is composed by two frame-ring beam system and radial beams braced by BRB, compare the dynamic responses of structures with these without BRB. Summary the variation of seismic response of main structure and the energy index of BRB system. Find the anti-seismic mechanism of BRB and compare with that before the substructure is changed. Besides, discuss the influence of the arrangement of the BRB, the rise-span ratio of the dome, the span of the dome and the type of earthquake on failure mechanism and anti-seismic properties.
