Pb - C super battery is a new energy storage device which is compounded together with lead-acid battery negative electrode and carbon material. It not only has a lead-acid battery properties but also has the carbon capacitance nature, therefore can improve the battery rate and circulation life. In this paper,carbon material was modified and the Pb - C super battery negative electrode and carbon paralleled in the internal and mixed was studied. Through the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction Analyze,Structure and morphology of carbon materials is characterized;the hydrogen behavior of carbon material was tested with circular voltammetric (CV) and Tafel polarization curve. Charging and discharging tested plate's charge-discharge and cycle properties.First of all,PbO2/C asymmetric capacitor were studied.Conductive agents, adhesives, controlling hydrogen additive agents and board gate was discussed, the results show that with conductive agent ratio of activated carbon: conductive agent(acetylene black and graphite milk quality ratio of 1:1 mix of conductive agent) =4:1,5 mass % PTFE and 0.25 mass % CMC adhesive,0.6 mass % oxidation of chromatography indiumt or gallium oxide and relatively thin board,the carbon plates can be best performance. Experimental results show that the carbon negative plate and lead-acid battery negative electrode paralleled in the internal can rise the rate of the battery and at 1.90V termination voltage and in 1C and 2C discharge current,the battery's specific storage can be 25mAh/g and 8mAh/ g. Compared with common lead-acid battery,this has been improved a lot.Secondly,acetylene black,activated carbon and carbon black three carbon materials were modified with the method of adsorption and sedimentation lead sulfate. the results found that with the increase of number of the sedimentation,the ratio of loading lead sulfate of three kinds of carbon material has increased. After three times modifying in this three kinds of carbon materials,the loading ratio of carbon black,active carbon and acetylene is respectively 94.26%,85.45% and 62%. Therefore acetylene black is the highest. Through photos of scanning electron microscopy (SEM),the surface of acetylene black is very evenly,and in X-ray diffraction figure can see lead sulfate's crystal diffraction peak clearly.Finally,the modified acetylene black and activated carbon were added in lead active substances. The results found that joining modified carbon materials of lead negative plate's charge-discharge performance and cycle properties are both well improved,and its rate performance is also very good. Among them,specific storage of joining three times modified acetylene black in lead negative electrode is 45mAh /g in 1C but joining three times modified activated carbon is 20mAh/g,so it shows that joining three times modified acetylene black in negative lead plate is better.
