China is now a large motorcycle producer. The requirements of high quality for motorcycle have been heightened. One important factor of the high quality of motorcycle is the low vibration. The usage of the finite element analysis, experiment skill, and multi-body dynamics simulation for investigating the dynamics of motorcycle is explored.Firstly, the modal of the motrocycle frame was analyzed which is used the software of FEM.The test modal analysis of the frame was accomplished, and validated the finite element analysis model of the motorcycle frame.a reliable accurate way to build FEM model was summarized.Secondly, add the other accessories to the basic model of the frame,So a whole motorcycle model was built for Harmonic Response Analysis.,It proved the whole motorcycle model coincidence with the test result based on a example which there are some modification on the motorcycle frame structure. It can predict the motor cycle dynamic characteristics by comparative analysis and It provides a theory foundation for motorcycle design. Finally, this paper build a whole Multi-body-dynamics model of a motorcycle via ADAMS. where the influence of the impacts from both road and engine is considered the prototype could be simulated for driving operation. With the result of the virtual experiments, this paper also evaluated the harshness, vibration of the prototype by changing different parameters of the suspension. It's the basis for future ride comfort study. This paper made some meaningfull study on the dynamic characteristics of the motorcycle and its ride comfort analysis combined with simulation technique and test technique. The research's conclusion has meaningful guidance to the whole motorcycle's development and the dynamic characteristics optimization.
