The predicting system for fire smoke-flow property of high building has been completed increasingly with so many precursors'efforts. After predicting software has been improved many times by numerous precursors, the software has been fairly mature. However, the original software regards mechanical smoke extraction volume as negative quality source and calculated. This mothod exist many problems and defects, disadvantage for performance-based design of mechanical smoke extraction system. In this research background, this paper's author has made the following works:According to the relationship of air volume and differential pressure on the opening installing ventilator, the p=f(Q) expression was fitted and instead of the original negative-mass expression. then a solvable algebra equations set is obtained, the calculation precision was improved, fire smoke-flow property can be simulated in the condition of building installing multi-fans and multi-openings, and the simulation results are more close to actual situation. Then it was found that the simulation results calculated by new method is close to the simulation results calculated by negative mass source method, it can prove that the improvement of the software is successful.The smoke control system performance-based design of a building has been researched using the improved predicting software for fire smoke-flow property of high building. First, exhaust outlets were seted early according to the building conditions like building structure, environmental conditions, fire load, etc. Various simulations have been made according to the opened exhaust outlets location and fire location. According to the simulation results exhaust outlet locations were selected in the condition that people in fire building could be safety evacuate in time, then the optimum exhaust outlet locations have been obtained. Then the building mechanical smoke exhaust volume have been researched according to the exhaust outlet location, the optimum mechanical smoke exhaust volume have been obtained in the condition that people in fire building could be safety evacuate in time. Based on the research of opening location and the optimum mechanical smoke exhaust volume, the method of smoke control system performance-based design has been summed up.Finally, a underground construction has been simulated using the improved predicting software for fire smoke-flow property of high building and the optimum air supplement volume of the construction has been researched. According to the simulation results the optimum collocation of air supplement volume and mechanical smoke exhaust volume has been obtained. The result is tally to the experiment result of Si Chuan Fire Protection Scientific Research Department.The research results of this paper have important reference value for the smoke control system performance-based design.
