The excitation and speed control system model of generator were the most important parts of four components models in power system analysis, which played a important role in its dynamic characteristics. Because of the power sector always used typical parameters in the past, which can hardly reflect the system dynamic characteristics, the further studies between the model's structure and parameters were urgently needed. Around these demands, this paper carried out the research on the parameter identification on the whole excitation and speed control system. The main contents are as follow:Firstly, starting from the actual demands for power grid, this paper introduced the exciter and control system models and the development and research process of parameter identification technology. This paper also discussed the necessity on intelligent identification method in using of excitation and speed control system parameter identification. The demand of identification software, which have high degree of practical was urgently request. Based on these introductions, the research targets were definitude.Subsequently, this paper described the purposes for building the standard model library in parameter identification, and introduced the necessities from the perspective of demand. In addition, for the problem of less explanations in existing standard models, based on the physical system, this paper split the existing typical standard models and gave the explanation and instructions for each parts, absolutely clear each boxes in which the model parameters Physical meanings and the physical phenomenon which corresponding to these parameters.Then, the methods to deal with the generator part in whole system parameter identification and the efficiency for identification simulation were studied. This paper derived the simplified generator model, which can be used in the whole excitation and speed control system parameter identification. This model has achieved in Matlab/Simulink. This paper also proposed a sub-simulation method to speed up the identification speed, improve the identification efficiency.Finally, from the practical engineering point of view, the author developed the excitation and speed control system identification visualization software which used the intelligent identification method. By introducing and using the main features of the parameter identification and calibration mode, this paper had finished the parameter identification and calibration on the actual system. Through the relevant time domain validation of the parameter identification and calibration, this paper improved the accuracy of the results.
