Giant Magnetostrictive material(GMM) is one kind of newly developed material, its applications on sensors and actuators are just at the beginning and consequently it has huge potential. While micro solid gyroscope is the hot topic recently, it has the characteristic of not having any rotor, so it can bear big shock. But in our country, there is nobody that can devise the structure that can apply the GMM material on the micro solid gyroscope. And in this passage, we want to solve this problem, to devise the structure that using the excellent performance of GMM.In this passage, we first look back on the study on micro solid gyroscope and GMM material. Based on these theories, we think out the principle of the gyroscope and devise the structure. After that, we do the modal analysis for the GMM with ANSYS, observing and finding out the modal frequency which the GMM stretch and shrink along X axis and Y axis, and at the same shrink and stretch along the Z axis. We optimized the structure with adding the layer of epoxy resin, so this optimized structure can lower the frequency drastically and avoid the eddy-current effect.Last we simulated the whole magnetic field with MATLAB. This consists of the the material and structural parameter of the permanent magnet, the number of turns of the plane coils and the gap between the coils. At last we determine the parameter which can meet our demand.
