The giant magnetostrictive material is a highly efficient electric-magnetic -machine conversion new functional materials, because the material has the characteristics of fast response, large strain range, strong reliability, large output stress,high energy density, good frequency characteristics, frequency bandwidth and other characteristics, so in aerospace, military, sonar technology, shock damping, precise positioning and other fields have a wide range of application prospects.Firstly, this paper based on the magnetostrictive material, designed a new type of giant magnetostrictive actuator, the four main parts of drive magnetic circuit, bias magnetic circuit, cooling system, pre-pressure system are optimized design; By the finite element simulation software ANSYS, simulation analysis the influence of the open closed magnetic circuit, current and permanent magnet thickness on internal magnetic field of the actuator, the magnetic field simulation results show that in a closed magnetic field, a certain thickness of permanent magnet, the greater the current, the giant magnetostrictive actuator internal magnetic induction intensity. Then, by writing the Labview data acquisition program, data acquisition card, force sensor, displacement sensor, power supply, etc, set up a performance test for the giant magnetostrictive actuator system, the static performance output force and output displacement of the actuator were tested. Experimental results show that the different preloading, the impressed current has a certain influence on the output displacement and output force of giant magnetostrictive actuator. The research on this topic, provide the theoretical and experimental basis for the design of giant magnetostrictive actuator and its application, has extremely important significance for further expansion of its application.
