Sandwich structure is widely used in aerospace, transportation, construction industry and other important fields because of its lightweight, high stiffness, durability and high structural efficiency. As sandwich structures are often subjected to aggressive service conditions, including random external load and other uncertain environmental factors, not to mention the tolerance of structural dimension and the diversity of mechanical properties of materials, the reliability of sandwich structure was drawn much attention to by most people involved. Based on the major issues, this paper tried to focus on the structural reliability theory of foam cored sandwich panels, after the analysis of the mechanical model of foam cored sandwich panels, a high-order model was used to analyze the structural reliability of foam sandwich panels, a method based on hybrid simulation analysis was also brought out to calculate the structural reliability index at the same time, which made contribution to the development of structural reliability theory for sandwich panels to a certain extent. The content of this essay is mainly as follows:(1) The mechanics analysis model for sandwich panels was set up based on the HSAPT, and the bending problem of simply supported foam cored sandwich plate under horizontal load was solved.(2) A method for structural reliability analysis of simply supported foam cored sandwich plate under horizontal load was put forward, and the simply-supported bending problem was solved in the HSAPT, which promoted the development of structural reliability theory for foam cored sandwich panel.(3) The numerical simulation of structural reliability analysis on foam cored sandwich panels was completed by using general-purpose finite element software ANSYS, the distribution of the stress and strain was derived after the setting up of finite element model of sandwich panels, both the Monte Carlo method and the response surface method were used to simulate the structural reliability of simply supported foam sandwich panels under vertical loads, which provides a numerical means for structural reliability analysis on foam sandwich plate.(4) An experiment on simply supported sandwich plate under concentrated load was designed and conducted to validate the theoretical model, and failure probability was also calculated given the randomicity of actual load, which could be an effective validation on the proposed method of structural reliability analysis on foam sandwich plate.In summary, structural reliability analysis on foam sandwich panel was systematically researched by theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental verification in this dissertation, the research in this dissertation promoted the development of structural reliability theory for foam cored sandwich panel. What's more, the research results are meaningful in usage life assessment of sandwich products.
