Urban Transportation Landscape Infrastructure Research And Practice

Transportation infrastructure is the foundation and prerequisite of the social and economicdevelopment. Governments from all around the world attach great value to the construction ofurban transportation infrastructure. However, with the rapid urbanization, urban transportationinfrastructure cannot meet the requirements of urban development in China.City problems are derived and the sustainable development is blocked. This studyre-orientates the urban transportation infrastructure, introduces landscape infrastructure strategy,and integrates transportation infrastructure and landscape. With landscape urbanism theory,landscape is applied to construct transportation infrastructure to solve the problem of urbantransportation, and sustainable development. This is expected to apply not only in transportationand entire city modern infrastructure.This study starts from the interpretation of transportation infrastructure, discusses thecurrent situation, development and problems of it. Through analysis, landscape infrastructurestrategy is put forward, and the source of landscape infrastructure-landscape urbanism isdiscussed. Landscape infrastructure strategy is applied to analyze the transportation infrastructure.Different types of transportation infrastructure and case studies are discussed as below: urbanroad landscape infrastructure, urban waterway landscape infrastructure, urban parking spacelandscape infrastructure, urban transport hub landscape infrastructure, urban transportation wastespace landscape infrastructure and attached space landscape infrastructure. Finally, with2010IFLA competition participation, strategy of urban transportation landscape infrastructure isstudied, and the result could be used as reference for future transportation infrastructureconstruction.
