Research On Landscape Urbanism And Its Application In Ecological Landscape Planning And Design

Landscape Urbanism is one of the forward-looking and potential theories in the field of contemporary urban design.It integrates urban design and ecology into an inclusive and creative process from knowledge to action.With the development of landscape urbanism from competition to practice,and the concept of sustainable development deeply rooted in people’s minds,landscape highlights as an important factor to determine the composition of a city,more and more recognized by designers,learning landscape urbanism has gradually become a trend.Based on the in-depth study of the landscape urbanism thought of Charles Waldheim and other designers and scholars,combined with its application in ecological landscape planning and design,this paper summarizes the strategies to guide China’s urban design,and explores the future of landscape in the reflection.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the formation background and development of the trend of thought of landscape urbanism through literature research,discusses the origin,development and application of landscape urbanism from both theoretical and practical aspects,and summarizes the formation factors of landscape urbanism.The main factors of the formation of landscape urbanism include: the transformation of Ford’s authoritarian economic system;The spread of postmodernism;Waldheim’s own architectural and urban planning background;Inspired by the ecological thoughts of scholars such as Michael Hagar and Corner,the transformation of the economic system of Fordism mentioned above and the wide spread of postmodernism are the foundation and times conditions for the formation of landscape urbanism.In this paper,the theory of landscape urbanism is systematically summarized and analyzed from the aspects of its core elements,internal characteristics and application fields.The core elements of landscape urbanism include: landscape is the expression of nature and humanity based on time and space;Landscape infrastructure is the carrier of urbanization process;Landscape can promote spatial justice and social equity.Intrinsic features include: landscape and ecological processes that define the shape of the city;Urbanism is seen as a process of continuous change in urban form;To create more sustainable cities by implementing landscape design that considers environmental processes.Application fields include: green infrastructure,brownfield reconstruction and regeneration,social welfare improvement;And so on.Based on the practice of specific cases,the application of landscape urbanism in ecological landscape planning and design is summarized and thought,and the localization dilemma of landscape urbanism,the influence and interaction of landscape urbanism on Chinese landscape are put forward,which provides a reference for future urban landscape planning and design.
