In recent years, with the rapid development of road construction, the asphalt concrete pavement appeared a lot of problems, especially the early damage. Most of the asphalt concrete pavement will enter the maintenance period in coming years. Therefore, how to prolong service life effectively, avoid the large-scale road overhaul, efficient and reasonable utilization of resources, energy conservation and environmental protection, is one of the main topics of the research pavement.Currently, most of the city is mainly uses hot mix dense gradation asphalt mixture on road surface treatment mask. The thickness is generally 3~4cm. The cost is higher and the degree of compaction is hard to guarantee. The environmental pollution is serious of the smoke when paving. The effect to the urban traffic is hard, because of the long time traffic breaking. The research and application of ultrathin overlay with warm asphalt mixture technology can effectively solve the problem. However, the research is still at the beginning currently in our country. The design method, theory and engineering experience are not mature.According to the research progress of warm asphalt mixture and ultrathin overlay technology in engineering application status domestic and overseas, the gradation designs in the maximum nominal diameter of 4.75mm and 9.5mm were studied. Evaluate the road performance of ultrathin asphalt mixture comprehensively through the indoor test. And put forward several key control parameters to different types of gradation. The test road is constructed and observed on the basis of indoor test results. The feasible construction methods and techniques are put forward.The structural composition design of rut repair, road repair and new road construction by the ultrathin overlay technology with warm asphalt mixture is researched. And the simple economic evaluation and technical analysis is done. With the combination of warm asphalt mixture and ultrathin overlay technology, both advantages can play and the shortcomings of common asphalt mixture can be offset. It's the new road technology which is advanced economy, energy-saving and environmental protection.
