Solar energy, a kind of green and renewable energy resources, is more widely concerned by the governments at home and abroad. Solar photovoltaic power generation technologies have gradually become hot issues. The design of PV system impacts on system performance directly. And the performance of it responses design problems to a large extent. Therefore, both PV system design and running analysis are of great importance.This article mainly research on PV generation systems of the two aspects of contents :One the one hand,this paper expounds the content and procedure of PV system design. Based on this, some work is done as follow. The way to choose solar modules is improved. The optimum method of the optimum tilted angle for the photovoltaic array is proposed. Based on labVIEW language, array spacing software is developed so that higher calculating accuracy can be achieved. The lightning protection PV combiner is specially designed to the thin film module PV system with high voltage and low current. The way to choose inverter is proposed empirically. To elaborate PV generating systems more clearly, two typical cases of electric power projects are introduced.On the other hand, the performance analysis of PV generation system is introduced. Both the characteristic of generated energy and variability trend of it are found for the thin film modules and the crystalline silicon modules. And it is found that PV efficiency is independent of the direction of panels.
