Bim-Based 4D Resources Dynamic Management In Construction

According to statistics, there are as many as 2/3 of the construction projects in which the final accounts exceed the budget. It is an important task of construction management to management resource and control cost. However, the highly dynamic changes of construction process lead to large amount of calculation and difficulty of data acquisition when managing resources and controlling cost. Especially, workload increase exponentially with engineering change. For a long time, the management of resources and cost mainly is the human control. Software for management can only help managers make necessary calculations and statistics, and can't manage resources and real-time monitor cost effectively. The phenomenons of resource waste and budget excess are still very serious in construction.This research introduced of bill of quantities method and comprehensively applied 4D-CAD and BIM (Building Information Model) technology. The research built the connection of WBS, schedule, and resources information, based on construction component of 3D model. And the research founded the 4D-construction-resources information model. Through studying the mechanism and method of refining resource management to WBS activity node, the research developed 4D-resource dynamic management system, based on BIM technology. It has realized dynamic query of quantities, dynamic management of labor, machine, material, real-time monitoring of construction cost, and paying of progress payment in construction.The 4D-resource dynamic management system based on BIM technology applied in actual construction projects. The results show that the method, technology and system proposed by the research are feasible and effective. The actual application shows that the research results help enterprises comprehensively grasp the implementation and progress of projects, find and solve the conflicts appeared in resources management and cost control timely, reduce the phenomenons of budget excess and ensure the supply of resources. It has the remarkable effect in improving the ability of project management and cost control.
