Seawater hydraulic transmission technology is a kind of new green technology which can be operated by seawater instead of mineral oil. It has bright future in the fields of food hygiene, fire control, hydraulic jetting and oceanic development owe to its remarkable advantages on cleanliness, security, cheapness etc. This technology develops rapidly in recent years and becomes one of the hot topics. Being the key power component of seawater hydraulic transmission system, the development of seawater hydraulic pump is the key in improving the development of seawater hydraulic technology.In this thesis, the failure mechanism and mode of the key friction pairs have been analyzed by studying kinematics and dynamics characteristics of bevel axial seawater hydraulic piston pump. Besides, the improvement measures have been put forward by comparing materials and structures of piston pairs, ball-and-socket pairs and bearing pairs.Water allocating pair plays an important part in volume efficiency of piston pump. A new kind of design and calculation method for thrust plate is proposed, which combines traditional stress strength interference model with the first-order second-moment (FOSM), and then to build reliability model of water allocating pair. In addition, influence of the seal strip's size on water allocating pair's reliability has been discussed, and the conclusion of the best assembly of tolerance on the seal strip's size has been reached.Fatigue life on piston pump is studied through P-S-N curves in the thesis. Finally, the reliability growth test by overall enhancement experiment have been proposed based on the research characteristics of bevel axial seawater hydraulic piston pump, which can lay a further research foundation for its successful development.
