Water hydraulics technology operated by water instead of mineral oil as working medium which has been rapidly developed in the whole world for its medium's merits such as security, incombustibility, energy saving and cleanliness, has already become an extremely important research topic of front disciplines in the world at present. Research on seawater piston pumps which are the main dynamic components in hydraulic systems is essential to the development of water hydraulics technology.A new structure of bevel axial piston pump basing on transmission of bevel gears by analyzing and comparing the current hydraulic pumps is proposed in this dissertation. In order to clarify the feasibility and technical advantages of the new structure, the kinematics properties and the working principle of the seawater hydraulic piston pump have been analyzed.The key friction pairs of seawater hydraulic piston pump are analyzed theoretically. The situation of force, lubrication, friction and wear of the bevel gears working in seawater are preliminary studied. The expression of the leakage on piston pair which is sealed by using double-ring has been obtained through the force analysis. The structure of the distribution pair for its automatic compensation function is explained and the leakage of the distribution pair with damping groove is also approximately calculated.According to the requirements of the project, the technique and structure parameters of the bevel axial seawater piston pump are determined. Based on structural design for the main parts of this pump, the virtual design and assemblymen of prototype have been completed. And the simulation analysis for the characteristics such as motion, pressure and flux of the bevel axial seawater piston pump is undertaken with the help of fluid analysis software-AMESim. The emulational results lay the relevant theoretical foundation for the subsequent experiment research.
