There are a huge number of people with disabilities in our country. It is very important to find the advantages of the disabled and provide the appropriate job with the disabled for the employment of the disabled. Based on the background of work ability of the handicapped, this thesis selected a specific type job——ladder climbing as the research object and carried out the ladder climbing experiment, and evaluate the work ability of ladder climbing by analyzing the experimental data and establishing the general model of work ability. The main research contents include the following three aspects.A standard ladder climbing model was raised based on the previous studies of ladder activities. Ladder climbing experimental program was designed in which the ladder parameters, anthropometry, ladder task were input variables and the force of the hand and foot, muscle information, joint coordinate were output variables. Six normal subjects and five handicapped subjects (with fake curs) participated the ladder climbing experiment. The thesis conducted statistical analysis for the large amounts data collected from the ladder climbing experiment. The differences of hand and foot force in ladder climbing were analyzed between the normal subjects and the handicapped subjects, the ladder parameters and anthropometry had the effect on the hand and foot force. The differences of Electromyography between the normal subjects and the handicapped subjects were studied. By the joint coordinate calculation, the differences of hand-foot distance and ladder climbing speed between the normal subjects and the handicapped subjects were analyzed. The probabilistic value of ability index based on the large sample was designed. According to the theory that the ability index system and the work ability index weight system should be separated, the common work ability evaluation model was established and ladder climbing work ability was evaluated based on the model.
