With the continuous improvement of steam turbo-generator capacity and main steam parameter, in order to guarantee the efficiency and security, the real-time and accuracy requirement of temperature measurement for the turbine rotor surface is improved at the same time. Referring to the current rotor surface temperature measurement methods widely used in the large turbine-generation sets at home and abroad, the paper points out that existing technique is defective in real-time, universality and accuracy. We put forward the technical scheme to apply infrared radiation (IR) temperature measurement technology in the turbine rotor surface detection.By conducting research on radiation absorption and radiation character of steam, the transmission characteristic of IR window material, and comparison of three basic theories of IR temperature measurement, the range, precision and waveband are chosen, as well as the IR thermometer mode. Furthermore, window structural assemblies were designed using 3D parametric modeling software Pro/ENGINEER. The high temperature (HT) and high pressure (HP) steam sealing tests on different structures verified that the improved packing seal scheme can guarantee the safety and sealability of IR window.Due to the distribution limitation of measure-points, in order to estimate the result of IR thermometer, this paper studied heat transfer of the autoclave and calculated the autoclave temperature field by numerical simulation. So the function relationship between temperature monitoring point and target real temperature was obtained. The results of data analysis proved the feasibility of technical route.In addition we also make preliminary discussion on mounting means of installation in field application. The local strength affected by stresses concentration on HP inner and outer casing with opening of Harbin Turbine Corporation CLN350-24.2/566/566 unit was studied. Finally the temperature measurement system platform is built up and temperature acquisition program is developed with Visual C++.
