Along with economic and social development, the size of power network is increasing fast, and it adds to the complex of the system. In the new century, several large-scale of the severe power outages have broken out through the world, moreover natural disasters have made greatly impact on the power system, these facts fully exposed various deficiencies of the stable operation of existing power and control. At the same time, smart grid construction is sweeping the world, has become an irreversible trend in the development of future grid, smart grid construction on the existing analysis and control of network security and reliability has put forward higher requirements.Followed the trend of smart grid construction, resulting from the era of smart grid background, this paper introduce the concept of smart grid and its features required. Based on the requirement of the smart grid, this paper points out many shortcomings of the available of stability control system, and makes a further analysis of these shortcomings. Then the paper points out that under the smart grid stability control with respect to the traditional with the characteristics of stability control, devises the framework of future stability control system, discusses two key issues, indicators the important practical significance of fault screening.Currently affecting the dynamic security analysis of power system is mainly due to the speed of the large number of expected faults. How to effectively filter out non-serious problems, to reduce unnecessary work for the simulation of dynamic security analysis which improve the speed, then promote stability analysis and control of the security into the online real-time applications have a significant impact. In this paper, made a fault-depth analysis of performance indicators which use for dynamic security analysis, then surrounding the issues of reasonable indicators, analyze the unreasonable targets; define new indicators, improved unreasonable targets.Finally, for the screening method for fault analysis have not been applied to the actual power grid, basis on the reasonable analyze of actual system, this paper, for the first time, contingency screening method using the effective network performance analysis, contingency screening performance indicators designed to promote the application of law to promote the dynamic security analysis to the real-time online application. The results showed that Comprehensive Index regarded as fault-line dynamic security analysis of a feasible way of screening.
