Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the north-south traffic artery of China, which plays a significant role in economic development. However, obstruction is a very serious phenomenon in the Grand Canal. As the freight volume increasing greatly, canal navigable ability can not meet the actual navigable canal transportation needs. Therefore, to improve the overall navigable ability of the canal, it is necessary to research into ship scheduling approach. There is no research about coordination scheduling of multi-site in the existing literatures. The Grand Canal has long route and many shiplock sites, it is suitable for coordination scheduling research. The coordination scheduling of multi-site on background of the Grand Canal is studied in this thesis. In the thesis, a multi-site coordinated scheduling model is built. The model has three aims, average area utilization rate of the shiplock, result of the ship's average wait time divided by the corresponding waiting time of shiplock service level and whole operating costs of shiplocks. A factor of shiplock service level is introduced into the scheduling model, so that the quality of the shiplock service can be reflected further in the objective function. Based on the idea of coordination scheduling, a coupling constraint of the adjacent sites is proposed, the details to achieve the constraint is also expressed in the thesis.Ships' static weights are important in ship scheduling problem, there are many factors which affect a ship's static weight. With rough set theory, the historic data of ship scheduling is analyzed. Based on the analyzed results, common factors which affect a ship's static weight are ranked according their importance to a ship's static weight. A static weight evaluation model is established to calculate the ships'static weight. To verify the validity and the feasibility of the model, simulation algorithm is designed, the passing ships'information as the input of the algorithm is produced according the probability statistic information of ships in north Jiangsu canal. Simulation results show that the model and the algorithm are effective. The coordination scheduling model of multi-site established in this thesis provides a reference to study problems of this kind, the simulation optimization algorithm offers a reference to solve similar problems for future.
