Airport navigation lights dimmer is a necessary visual aids equipment which protect the aircraft from crash in the addition of takeoff, landing, taxiing during night, poor visibility condition or other more complex cases.Constant current dimmer is the core control equipment of airport navigation lighting system, at present, the dimmers used at home and abroad mainly use the SCR chopper technology, power devices commonly use SCR thyristor, this kind of dimmer has imperfection such as large waveform aberrance,high required power, serious pollution to the power grid, low efficiency, poor ability to adapt of the load, and so on.With the rapid development of power electronics technology and micro-controller technology, it has become possible to develop a new all-digital constant current dimmer with high-performance and low-cost, and this will greatly improve the technological level of the dimmer, improve the performance of airport navigation system, and enhance market competitiveness.This thesis relies on the specific project, summarizes the development status at home and abroad of dimmer and mainly introduces the overall design plan of the 30KVA airport navigation lighting system. The thesis detailedly introduces the design process of control system from both hardware design and software design aspects, and highlights the main module's design and implementation. The system uses the TI company's TMS320LF2407DSP instead of the commonly used SCM as master controller to implement the all-digital constant current control of dimmer, controls inverter's power modules by using SPWM to control the load circuit current. The system designs a user-friendly man-machine interface module, it can show the current voltage,electric current,current level of light and fault information real-timely, which makes the system's operating status open and shut. The thesis also designs a few fault protection scheme, which will make the system's stability and reliability further improved.On the basis of pre-designed, we experimented on 30KVA dimmer system, and analyzed the experimental process and system design problems. the overall results show that the design has been basically achieved the desired objectives.
