As China's UHV power grid construction and the deepening of reform, China's smart grid will be the development of a new direction. Smart substation is an important part of smart grid. IEC61850 standard promulgated for the implementation of smart substation paved the way. IEC 61850 standard achieve a digital device and a second smart device platform in accordance with uniform standards for data modeling and communication, to achieve a fully digital relay protection system applications. Therefore, carrying out research on a smart sunstion relaying protection technology based on IEC61850 standard in promoting the smart grid has some practical significance.The results of this study include:(1) Chapter 1:the main features of smart substation and system architecture. Technical characteristics of smart substation relay protection.(2) Chapter 2:various types of smart substation equipment characteristics and the impact of technology on the relay.(3) Chapter 3:IEC 61850 in smart substation relay protection.(4) Chapter 4:a typical wiring for the Shanghai city 110kV substation intelligent features, design a fully digital relay configuration.(5) Chapter 5:through the introduction on the technique features of smart substation,the chapter analyzes the revolution and presents the corresponding solutions to solve the problems.Finally, a summary of the text, pointing out that research problems to be solved and further research directions.
