Under the background of energy stortage and increasingly prominent problems ofEnvironmental protection, development of clean energy and a low carbon economy havebeing becoming the common choice of the world. Wind power is an inexhaustible, renewableenergy, and, Among the kinds of renewable energys, wind power has good conditions forlarge-scale development and commercialization potential. Wind power grid operation animportant way to achieve large-scale wind energy development. But, The main factor of limitthe size of wind farms is the random fluctuations in wind speed. Although the energy storagesystem configuration is an effective way to stabilize fluctuations in wind farm output power,the cost of energy storage system is very expensive currently. This paper focus on how to usethe limited capacity of the battery capacity to stabilize the active wind farm output powerfluctuations and find a matching strategy between wind power and battery energy system.Then, let the wind farm output meet the grid requirement of fluctuation limited.This paper introduces the battery management system, and the battery terminal voltagemeasurement method and the battery balancing scheme are introduced in detail. And, Abattery terminal voltage and passive detection strategy is proposed and verified throughexperiments. After the work of analysis and comparison of various methods of active powersmoothing is finished, an energy management programs for active smoothing is proposedbased on wind power prediction. Then, wind power output prediction methods are introducedin this paper, and kalman filtering method is used to optimize prediction model. Afterconsidering different wind / storage ratio and battery energy storage system acceptable ratepower a energy storage system management strategy is proposed.At the wind active power stabilization part, this paper conducted a numerical example based on the real power data of a 49.5MW wind farm. Including three parts: 1, Makingdetailed analysis of the fluctuation characteristics of the 49.5MW wind output power; 2,Using the moving average method and the method of wind power energy storage systemenergy management program based on the wind farm output power prediction achieve windpower stabilization respectively; 3, Geting the effect of power fluctuations stabilizztion of thecontrol strategy when the wind / storage ratio are different. The results show that themaximum power fluctuation was 22 MW/15min. Compared with the previous maximumpower fluctuation was 42.596MW/15min, there is 48.35% decline. Moreover, in thestabilizing process, the power control strategy and control parameter optimization methodhave an effective management for the SOC of battery.
