efficient has made a great progress. As compared with traditional backlighting, LED possesses many advantages. In order to satisfy the need of the market, the research of LED driver chip is becoming a hot spot.In this paper, a 4 channel boost LED driver chip is designed. The output voltage and current can both be adjust to be applied to different areas, which include many different size of LCD monitors and TV. The output voltage can be as high as 200V, and the output power could reach 100W. At the same time, the chip integrates the PWM dimming shifting function, making a multi-chip system favorable in higher power situation. And the chip has many different protections from the faults that the system may encounter, such as LED short and open, over temperature and short of schottky.LED and DCDC circuit are introduced first in the paper, and then a LED backlighting system is designed, the stability of the system is analyzed, sub circuits is designed and simulated, and finally the layout is designed and the chip gets tested.
