The Study On Vertical Greening Plants Variety Selection And Its Application In Tianjin

The afforestation coverage marks the civilization and modernization of a city. With the rapid population increase and the urban construction, the great demand for building site certainly leads to a decrease of green coverage, especially in metropolis, the contradiction between the land-use right of urban construction and the afforestation is becoming increasingly conspicuous. During the urban development, a variety of infrastructure require a updating and upgrading, especially in the old area of a city, the space shortage of greening is very obviously.The main contents in this thesis were showed as following:In Tianjin urban district, suburbs Jixian, Tanggu and other places, a system investigation of varieties, morphologic feature and ecological habit of available liana was carried out, based on that investigation, a base case of available resource of liana in Tianjin was found out.According to the climate characteristics of Tianjin, more than 30 species of liana were introduced, during the resistance test and adaptiveness observation, according to their phenophase, survivability and living through the winter and summer, finally 17 species of vertical greening plants were selected, which adapt themselves well to the Tianjin climate.After the culture-medium test, cutting propagation test and container nursery test, a serious of cultural practices, consist of cultivation, propagation, and management, were summarized.A common standard of liana variety selection was defined according to the investigation, and several species, such as Vinca major, Coronilla varia, Ipomoea batatas, Pelargonium peltatum, Asparagus cochinchinensis, were selected as the most suitable plants for vertical greening, which have a great market potential.Demonstrations of the application of hanging greening and wall greening were studied in the center districts of Tianjin for increasing the area for landscape greening.
