| Floating Membrane Structure is a new type of Membrane Structure which produces by introducing aerostat concept into the field of Membrane Structure. Based on the principle of Cellular Automata, the paper puts forward a new analytical method of Membrane Structure, and also has a form finding and load effect analysis of Floating Membrane Structure by Self-developed dynamic simulation system in order to identify feasibility of Floating Membrane Structure applied to practical construction.Membrane Structure design methods based on the principle of Cellular Automata is a new calculation and analysis method which integrates the simulation ideology of Cellular Automata with dynamic relaxation method of traditional analytical methods of Membrane Structure and introduces dynamic effect of load into dynamic relaxation method. Based on the new design methods, the paper makes a research on Floating Membrane Structure by Self-developed dynamic simulation system in the Visual Studio platform.The study on Floating Membrane Structure will revolve around representative example of Floating Membrane Structure-Floating Unit. The paper finds out profile shape of equilibrium of Floating Unit when the gravity effect is ignored, analyzes shift of each node of profile of equilibrium and the inner forces of rod for conformity to requirements through analysis of form finding and undertakes further research of gravity effect in the analysis of form finding.Based on the analysis of form finding, the paper makes research on load effect.
