Compared with the ground-based aircraft landing, the difficulty and complexity and risk of carrier aircraft landing are bigger. To make the carrier aircraft at a high speed land on the deck with limited length of the ship successfully, the navies of most countries are using the arresting system. The U.S. Navy had many years of experience in the use of MK7 type of arresting system.They are very mature both in theory and engineering applications,and we can access some relevant information. In China, Although some papers on the related issues of carrier aircraft landing and arresting system have been published, the papers about general mathematical modeling and simulation of carrier aircraft arrested are not a lot.The research object of this paper is MK7 Mod3 arresting system. First, it discussed the work principle of system with the combination of the system diagram. Second, it described the main structure of the system(arresting engine.cable system, damper sheave system, cable anchor damper system,constant runout system, retracting system cooler system) in detail.and listed the main design parameters of system, and on this basis it established and analyzed the mathematical model of every part of the arresting system and the total model in detail, then analyzed the characteristics of the system based on the state equation.This paper used hydraulic mechanical engineering simulation software AMESim to simulate the arresting system and established total system simulation model.It got the main performance curve and analyzed the working state of the entire system.Then, by simulating and researching several important parameters(weight of aircraft, velocity of aircraft, selector of weight, damper sheave system) affecting the system, the paper got some main curves which can reflect the system performance, so to verify the impact of that factor to the system.More or less deviation and yaw situation is appear in the carrier aircraft landing process, which requires the arresting system to have a certain capability of correction. Otherwise, the consequences will be incalculable. This paper established the mathematical model of carrier aircraft and arresting system in the situation of deviation and yaws and simulated the situation by using Co-simulation of AMESim and Simulink. Simulation curve shows that arresting system has certain ability of rectifying deviation and yaw.MK7 Mod3 type of arresting system adopts a purely mechanical feedback structure to achieve carrier aircraft departure at constant length requirements. This paper proposed improvements about this, and an electro-hydraulic proportional valve has been used as a control mechanism. And it used a feedback linearization of nonlinear systems to achieve the improvement of system control strategy.
