As an important part of carrier vessels, carrier-based aircraft should land safely in vile condition. The barricade is widely used to arrest aircraft because of the limited deck. Therefore, the aircraft also suffers arresting force by the barricade besides aero forces, gravity, the reactions by carrier vessels and thrust. Usually, the aircraft lands with off-center and yawing because of the complicated landing situation. Therefore, how to determine the arresting force becomes the key point. Based on this, research in this paper has been done, with dynamics of the aircraft being analyzed and influences on arresting dynamics performance and landing-gear dynamics performance being studied. The main contents are shown as follows:Force and torque are studied when aircraft lands. According to the common study of the barricade, the development mechanism and way of function of the arresting force are analyzed, and a model of yawing and off-center arresting force which is established in MATLAB is built. The results show that the peak of arresting force and the largest directional acceleration may decrease, the arresting distance and arresting duration may increase because of off-center and yawing.A carrier-based aircraft is modeled in ADAMS/Aircraft with simulation analysis, and the dynamic performance of aircraft and landing-gear affected by arresting conditions is discussed. The research clearly indicates that in arresting process, because of the existence of off-center and yawing, the general drift of the peak of arresting force, arresting distance, arresting duration and the largest directional acceleration tally with preceding part of this paper well. At the same time, the load in landing gear can increase, so more attention should be paid to design of landing gear structure.
